Jogging may increase bone strength and improve aerobic fitness, but it can also become tedious. Therefore to keep yourself motivated, and to challenge your body using different activities, use your imagination to liven up your exercise routines.
To get your creative juices flowing, here are three examples of fun activities which are also great for giving you a superb cardio vascular workout:-
- Hip hop dancing: Hip hop dancing engages all the muscle groups, including the legs, arms and the core. It also increases your stamina and promotes lean muscle growth.
- Kickboxing: Kickboxing teaches self defence whilst incorporating fun, heart-healthy moves such as roundhouse kicks or basic boxing techniques. Hard work, but great fun.
- Parkour: The danger of leaping from roof to roof improves mental strength, while the high intensity of this exhilarating activity also improves core, leg and upper arm strength – not for the faint hearted!
Engaging in fun aerobic activities also has a hidden bonus - you're far more likely to work harder if you're mind is distracted and you are enjoying yourself. So let your imagination go wild to reinvigorate your exercise regime.
