Fitness Tip | DESTABILISE YOURSELF
Those multi-coloured balls you often see in the gym aren't just for play. Called exercise balls, these air-filled devices reduce pressure on the lower back, making it easier to exercise your core without additional back pain.
By simply sitting on the ball it will force you to maintain your balance, strengthening the hard-to-find muscles that make up your core.
Other exercises, such as abdominal curls or back extensions, can be performed on the exercise ball to improve core strength. For additional exercise, trade your work desk chair for an exercise ball for constant core strengthening. Furthermore, it will encourage you to sit up straight, therefore improving your posture.
