Using a treadmill has many advantages and unlike running outside, the weather won't affect your ability to run. With the choice of selecting an appropriate speed for your ability, treadmills can provide a challenging workout for both professional athletes and beginners alike.
Most treadmills also come with elevation adjusters, which manipulate the sensations of running uphill.
To maximize the results from your treadmill, keep your back straight and take short strides, lifting from your toes to increase the speed. Like with elliptical machines, start slowly, steadily increasing the speed to increase the intensity. Finish off with a gradual cool down, adjusting the speed to a slightly slower pace until you come down to a safe walking pace.
