Diet Tip | SUPPRESS HUNGER WITH GUM
Do you want to reduce your cravings for sweets and junk food? Research shows that chewing gum between meals is an effective appetite suppressant. According to these studies, participants who chewed gum consumed 60 less calories in sweets compared to non-chewers, who grazed on sugary snacks instead.
The participants also reported having a lessened desire for sweets or junk food, reducing their temptation to indulge in unhealthy snacks.
So to reduce your appetite, try snacking on sugar-free gum between meals. But be careful - most sugar-free gum contains a sorbitol or sugar alcohol base, which acts like a laxative. This side effect increases with prolonged gum chewing.
