Diet Tip | REPLACE SAUCES WITH KIMCHI
In its native Korea, kimchi is considered as a national condiment and is consumed by the vast majority of the nation’s population. The Koreans believe that kimchi cleans the blood, improves general health and helps to keep their waists small and not bloated.
Recent research has now indicated that these Korean beliefs may not be that far off the mark. Kimchi – which is made from chili peppers, cabbage and garlic - contains an appetite-suppressing chemical called capsaicin, which causes people to eat less. It's also rich in vitamins A, B and C, which are essential for maintaining overall health.
So next time you make a sandwich, try topping it with some kimchi, rather than a traditional calorie laden sauce which tends not to have much nutritional goodness.rather. Kimchi can be also mixed into Korean-style pancakes, called "jeon". Be warned though - it's quite fragrant and pretty spicy!
