Diet Tip | LOSE WEIGHT WITH GREEN TEA
Tea is practically sewn into our heritage, with a recent survey indicating that 70% of Brits have ‘a cuppa’ every day – yet research also suggests that we may be drinking the wrong type of tea.
Green tea (which is a light, earthy tea first made popular in China) may be the key to boosting the metabolism and reducing numerous health risks, such as cancer and heart disease.
According to one Dutch study, participants who drank green tea regularly lost weight and reduced their waistline, as opposed to participants who didn't sip this earthy concoction.
Researchers believe the special chemicals found in green tea speed up the metabolism, aiding in weight loss. The antioxidants found in green tea may also reduce free radical formation, a common factor that leads to cancer.
However, these benefits aren’t found so abundantly in black tea – the colour of tea most of us currently choose to sip.
So if you want to make at least one long lasting and healthy New Year’s resolution...simply swap your colour of tea from black to green.
