Diet Tip | KEEP A FOOD DIARY
Keeping yourself accountable is important if you want to eat right and keep up with your healthy eating and exercise habits. This can be done in a variety of ways, either through a friendly support group, working with a personal trainer, an online forum, or buddying up with a friend who is also looking to shed some extra pounds. But a food diary, either handmade or ordered from a health centre, can also keep you on track while maintaining your privacy.
How it works: Using a pen and plenty of paper space, write down all the foods and beverages you consume every day, followed by its total calories, fat grammes and other nutritional information. After the day ends, tally up all of the numbers to see if you're staying on track.
Advantages: There are numerous advantages for keeping a food diary. Not only does it make it easier to see how you eat, it also shows if you're not eating enough from one food group, when you mindlessly eat, and keeps you accountable - you're less likely to binge if you need to write it down!
