Diet Tip | IS DRIED FRUIT ANY GOOD?
Although dried fruit is typically healthier and more nutrient-dense than junk food, this doesn't necessarily mean it's diet-friendly. Not only does the drying process shrink the fruit to a fraction of its size, it also retains its caloric value - meaning if you snack on a dried piece of apricot, it still contains the same caloric value as a regular-sized piece.
Dried fruit also contains more sugar to enhance its sweetness, which increases its caloric and sugar content. Therefore, where possible, always choose a fresh piece of fruit over a dried version.
However, if you simply don’t enjoy the taste of raw fruit, try drizzling raw honey or apple butter over each individual slice. Additionally, you can dip it in all-natural peanut butter for a delicious protein pick-me-up.
