Diet Tip | FIBRE IS KEY
Regardless of how you want to lose weight, dietary fibre is extremely important for not only does it improve digestion, it also lowers your risk for high cholesterol, coronary heart disease and diabetes.
It may also help you feel fuller for longer after eating, reducing the temptation to eat fatty treats. Other evidence also suggests it may trim the fat around your midsection, shrinking your waist size.
COMA recommends consuming at least 18 grammes of fibre per day from healthy, food-based sources, such as brown rice, whole-grain bread or fresh, colourful fruits and vegetables. Navy and kidney beans contain the most amount of fibre, followed by artichokes, sweet potatoes and green peas.
