Diet Tip | A BREAKFAST A DAY KEEPS THE WEIGHT AWAY
To lose weight, some people sip tea for breakfast, hoping to reduce their caloric intake. But skipping breakfast may put your hunger into starvation mode by the time lunch comes around, tempting you to overeat on unhealthy sweets, fried snacks or carbohydrate-rich meals.
Studies also show that people who ate a healthy breakfast - which means consuming more than tea or squeezed juice - were less likely to have weight problems. They were also more motivated to exercise, keeping them in tip top shape.
To keep your weight on track, eat a hearty and filling breakfast rich in dietary fibre, found in whole grain products, fruits and vegetables. High fibre cereals are a great breakfast pick-me-up, as well as oatmeal spiked with sliced strawberries and a sprinkling of walnuts.
Also make sure to get your fill of protein, found in peanut butter and eggs, which is an essential macronutrient needed for building lean muscle.
